MIAMI, Fla. – Governor Rick Scott hosted a roundtable today with members of the South Florida Cuban Community in advance of Cuban Independence Day. The Governor discussed Florida’s commitment to standing with the Cuban people and what can be done in Florida and across the U.S. to support human rights, freedom and democracy in Cuba.
“It was an honor to meet with leaders of South Florida’s Cuban community who are working to support the fight for democracy in Cuba,” Governor Rick Scott said. “Florida is proud to stand with the people of Cuba and as we near Cuban Independence Day, it is important to recognize that the fight for freedom and democracy in Cuba is not over.
