Scott for Florida Launches the Bill Nelson Debate Dodger Calendar

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, the Scott for Florida campaign launched the Bill Nelson Debate Dodger Calendar. This follows more than two weeks of silence from the Nelson campaign since it was announced that Governor Scott will participate in a series of debates this fall as part of his campaign for U.S. Senate. While Nelson’s campaign claims that they “look forward to debating Rick Scott many times …,” the lack of response makes it clear Bill Nelson is hesitant to defend his weak record of accomplishments over the course of his nearly half century in office.

The governor will participate in the following debates, none of which Bill Nelson has committed to. The Scott for Florida campaign is continuing to review other invitations and will make additional announcements this summer.

“It’s been over two weeks and counting since Governor Scott announced the debates he will participate in this fall with no response from the Nelson campaign. As a career politician who has proven himself to be all talk and no action, Bill Nelson should be eager to discuss his decades in Washington – but now he is suddenly silent. How can someone who has been in politics for 46 years be afraid to debate? While Floridians wait for an explanation, our Bill Nelson Debate Dodger Calendar will keep track of just how long it takes Nelson to decide to show up.” – Lauren Schenone, Scott for Florida Press Secretary
