Gov. Rick Scott Senate Campaign Secures NFIB Endorsement
ST PETERSBURG, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott joined small business leaders at an event in St. Pete to announce the National Federation of Independent Business’ (NFIB) endorsement of Governor Scott’s campaign for U.S. Senate. NFIB is made of nearly 10,000 small and independent business owners in Florida, and members in attendance recognized Governor Scott for his dedication to cutting taxes, reducing burdensome regulations, and making it easier for businesses to succeed and create new jobs for families across the state. While Governor Scott has worked to make Florida the best state in the nation to do business, including cutting more than $10 billion in taxes, Bill Nelson has failed to fight for Florida job creators, including voting to raise taxes 349 times.
Governor Rick Scott said, “Thanks to the hard work of Florida businesses and our continued focus on cutting taxes and reducing burdensome regulations, more than 1.5 million jobs have been created for families across our state in just over seven years. While career politicians in Washington think that raising taxes and growing government is the only way to achieve economic growth, Florida has proven them wrong. As U.S. Senator, I’ll work every day to build on Florida’s incredible economic success and share the importance of cutting taxes and supporting business growth with the rest of the country. I am proud to receive the endorsement of NFIB today and I look forward to continuing to work together with Florida job creators to reform Washington.”
Juanita Duggan, President and CEO of NFIB, said, “Governor Scott has spent the last seven and a half years creating an environment where small businesses can grow, thrive and create jobs. NFIB is made up of thousands of small and independent business owners in Florida, and we are proud to fully support Governor Scott’s bid for U.S. Senate. Governor Scott has demonstrated an incredible commitment to doing everything possible to make it easier for businesses to succeed and ensure continued economic growth. We need leaders like Governor Scott in Washington who know the value of hard work and are committed to fostering small business success.”
