Latin Builders Association Endorses Gov. Rick Scott for U.S. Senate

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott joined the members of the Latin Builders Association (LBA) at an event in Coral Cables to accept their endorsement of his campaign for U.S. Senate. LBA is the largest Hispanic construction association in the United States, with over 750 member companies representing every aspect of South Florida’s vibrant construction industry.

LBA recognized Governor Scott for his commitment to cutting taxes, reducing burdensome regulations, and making it easier for businesses to succeed and create new jobs for families across the state. As a result of this commitment, Florida businesses have created more than 1.5 million new jobs, including more than 33,000 new jobs created in the construction industry over the past year alone. Alternatively, Bill Nelson has failed to support Florida businesses and has voted in favor of higher taxes 349 times.

Governor Rick Scott said, “In the last seven and a half years, we’ve worked hard to improve the business climate in Florida by cutting taxes, returning billions of dollars back to hardworking Florida families, and investing record amounts in transportation and infrastructure. We’ve also cut more than 5,200 burdensome regulations to get government out of the way so businesses can succeed. Thanks to this focus and the hard work of partners like the Latin Builders Association, we have seen more than 1.5 million new jobs created in our state, which means more opportunities for families to achieve their dreams here in Florida. I appreciate LBA’s endorsement today, and I look forward to continuing to fight for policies that build on Florida’s economic success as U.S. Senator.”

Eric Montes de Oca, President of the Latin Builders Association, said, “Governor Rick Scott’s commitment to creating jobs, cutting taxes and bolstering our state’s business climate has propelled Florida’s economy forward, which has helped grow a booming housing market and welcome millions of new residents to our state. The Latin Builders Association and our 750 member companies know that Governor Scott will continue to fight for jobs across the state, including within the construction industry – which is essential to our economy and to our families in South Florida. We are proud to offer our support of Governor Rick Scott’s campaign for U.S. Senate.”
