Taxpayers on the Hook When Senator Nelson Doesn’t Show up for Work
Despite being the ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee, Senator Bill Nelson was nowhere to be found during their hearing yesterday…. or at any of the scheduled committee hearings that he is a member of.
Despite not showing up for work, Senator Nelson is continuing to collect his tax-payer funded salary. Governor Scott called on Bill Nelson and Andrew Gillum to forgo their taxpayer-funded salaries while they campaign – just like Ron DeSantis agreed to do this week when he resigned from his seat in Congress.
So far, the Senator hasn’t bothered to respond.
While Governor Scott has never accepted a salary as governor, Bill Nelson has taken $4.4 million in taxpayer-funded salary and given himself 12 pay raises during his time in office.
