The Only Job Senator Nelson Cares About is His Own
Despite being in elected office for nearly half a century, Senator Nelson has failed to do anything to help create jobs or support opportunities for Florida’s families:
- Senator Nelson consistently votes against tax cuts for families and small businesses, and has voted in favor of higher taxes and fees more than 300 times.
- Senator Nelson has been a fixture in the federal government for nearly half a century while our country amassed the largest and fastest growth in federal debt in our history, shackling future generations with the growing burden of federal spending and debt.
- During his time in Congress, Senator Nelson has taken $4.4 million in taxpayer-funded salary and gave himself 12 pay raises.
“Let’s look at the facts… Senator Nelson became a millionaire off the backs of taxpayers, he has never created a job, and has no idea what it means to run a business. Senator Nelson has made it clear that he thinks that the best way to create jobs is to grow government and raise taxes. Governor Scott however, believes growing jobs means creating an environment that makes it easier for businesses and families to succeed. That is what he’s done in Florida, and that’s what he will do in Washington.” – Lauren Schenone, Scott for Florida Press Secretary
